  Help us transform lives!

At the Mentoring Center of Central Ohio, we believe that every child deserves real opportunities to learn, feel secure, know guidance and love.  Your support helps recruit and train a mentor who can help an under-achieving child discover belief in his own abilities, encourage wise choices and personal responsibility—values that make a lifetime of difference.

Mentors are life preservers for many children.
When a child knows a caring person who lives and coaches positive values and skills--and is able to build bridges across differences of race, education and economics--that young person sees what that better world could be! Mentors learn these skills through Mentoring Center training.

Since our founding in 2000, we have trained over 16,000 mentors-- over 1750 mentors in just the last year, each matched with a child in need. And we helped over 40 partner organizations achieve child safety and maximum outcomes by following quality mentoring practices.

These successes are alive in the improved skills and attitudes of the children served!  These include:

  • Improved self-concept
  • Better school attendance
  • Better behavior and relationships with peers and family
  • Better school performance

This time of major economic need has brought even greater stress on families already struggling. But children cannot wait!  They are growing toward adulthood now—and they will reach adulthood with –or without—the skills and values we say we want for them.

Your gift can give many more children the trained and guiding mentor they need to become an effective worker and a contributing neighbor.  We can’t call ourselves a community of the future if we leave one-third of our young people behind!

Please make a difference today!
