How Can The Mentoring Center Help? We can provide as much help and support as you want or need, tailoring ideas and solutions to your unique issues and challenges. For example:
Coaching you in “Best Practices”: We explain the importance of monitoring the mentor-mentee match and suggest ways to increase the value of individual matches—and of your total program.
The Mentoring Center can help you develop:
A statement of purpose and long-range plan
A recruitment plan for both mentors and participants
An orientation for mentors and participants
Eligibility screening for mentors and participants
A readiness and training curriculum for all
mentors and participants
A matching strategy
A monitoring process
A support, recognition and retention component

Helping you define desired outcomes and how to measure them: Varying programs focus on developmental assets, school attendance, behavior, or school performance (grades). Other programs may focus on continuity of attendance at the mentoring program, involvement in community activities or progress to post-high school education. We can help you determine how to plan for and measure the results that matter to you and your group.
The Mentoring Center provides the following services for non-profits at no charge:
Initial consultation regarding your mentoring program
Bi-monthly Agency Advisory meetings for agencies which become partners. These meetings include speakers, resources, grant alerts, networking with other mentoring programs, national updates, useful websites and more
Customized, in-depth consultation and on-site training are available for a fee. These services allow us to provide as much support as you want or need.
If you are a for-profit company, The Mentoring Center provides fee-based consulting services. We can consult with you to suggest varied appropriate resources, saving you time while producing a high impact mentoring program. We customize our services for your needs.
