Mentor training makes a difference

Without the Mentoring Center, our mentorship program would not exist in its current capacity. Each year, the Center provides free trainings and/or background checks to over 75 of our mentors! This is invaluable to us at KIDSConnect because our mentors emerge with the skills to communicate with and handle situations that may arise while mentoring a middle school youth. Our mentors have stated that without the Mentoring Center trainings, they would spend one year trying to “figure out” their mentee, rather than build the relationships that are imperative to a successful mentor- mentee match.”

- Darlene Scheid, The Educational Council

Valuable Training, Meaningful Results

“Thank you to the Mentoring Center for providing excellent training for our Peer Mentor program. The students appreciated the outside expertise and interaction in the session. The students are ready to go and make meaningful connections with our new students! Your partnership is valued and appreciated!”

- Kate Lehman, Asst. Dean for Student Success, Otterbein University
