Cost:
All sessions are free to mentors and staff of our
Partner Agencies within Franklin County.

Registration:
Participants need to reserve a space to attend. In the rare event that a training session is cancelled, we can only notify individuals who have registered.

Daytime: Limited short-term visitor parking & on-street paid metered parking available. All other spaces are reserved for employees.

After 5PM: Free parking is available in the HandsOn parking lot after 5 PM

After 6PM:
Free metered parking is available around the building after 6 PM or at Buckeye Printing (next building)

Requirements/Background Check:
ALL mentors are required to attend the Making of a Mentor/Relationship Building training and complete a background check.

A 5-minute background check may be completed weekdays during the office hours of 8:00AM-4:30PM (by appointment only) or at a training session. This service is free to all Partner Agencies within Franklin County. For all other trainees, please contact us for the cost at 614.233.6368.

Certification/CEUs:
Mentors are encouraged to attend additional training sessions. Those who attend three trainings will receive a certified training certificate.

Optional Social Work CEU's are available for $5 per unit hour (OCSWB Approved Provider #RSXO79901).

Mentor Training
The Mentoring Center provides training to new and current mentors to help them gain confidence, skills and inspiration, so they have the greatest impact possible!

Our experienced trainers provide interactive training to help develop successful mentors, as well as enhance worksite performance.

Mentee Training
The Mentoring Center provides training recommended for new mentees to help them better understand how a mentor can impact their life.

  • Ideas on how to relate to an adult outside their family, often a new experience
